Ever notice that sometimes life is going along all tickedy-boo, and then all of a sudden you're feeling like you were thrown onto a boat in the middle of the ocean without a soul around, and no compass or map to guide you? Not even a Google map?

Sometimes life can be messy. Unpredictable. And unfortunately there isn't a compendium of insights that is guaranteed to work for everybody.

You are the captain of your own ship. You have to chart your own course. And even then sometimes things don't go as planned.

There are tools that anyone can use, and get really good at, so when the winds do change you can confidently know what the best next step needs to be, for you.

I believe a consistent self-care routine is the best tool to prepare for the unforeseen.

There are different elements. Proper food, rest, mindset and movement are important components, each providing valuable and unique contributions.

I was honoured to be interviewed by Monica Fraser as part of her Thrive Thursday series. Each week she features a conscious and creative woman who has made self care a non-negotiable part of her life. Since my patients often ask me about my own personal self-care practice, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share it with you.
